Biswajeet Roy,  belongs to the famous Roychaudhary family, one of the biggest Zamidaar families of Kolkata. The entire family devotees of Ma Durga and Ma Kali and  own the biggest Kali Mandir and Biswajeet heads the trust of Kali  Mandir. The  family has been undergoing  troubles with the business loses the eldest son Sarvadaman as he is missing. The family purohit predicted that the bad phase will pass with the  birth of a baby girl. Biswajeet wife Yashomati was pregnant at that time but unfortunately the child dies  in womb itself.  In such circumstances they find baby  Rudra on the temple steps. Initially Yashomati and Biswajeet accept the baby , but slowly Jaya (Biswajeet’s siter) poisons Yashomati against Rudra , saying that she could be Biswajeet’s illegitimate child … and this evokes ill feelings in Yashomati’s mind against Rudra. What happens to Rudra, how she will be facing his mother and in the surviving in a paraya place is the main theme of the serial.
